Spinach-Cheese Balls
Start to Finish: 25 Minutes
Servings: 30 appetizers
Ingredients:
1 box (9 oz) Green Giant® frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed to drain
1 cup Original Bisquick® mix
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
1 egg
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 cup tomato pasta sauce, heated, if desired
Method:
1 Heat oven to 400°F. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray.
2 In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except pasta sauce. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls; place on cookie sheet.
3 Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from pan. Serve with warmed pasta sauce.
PER APPETIZER: Calories 45; Total Fat 2g (Saturated Fat 1g); Sodium 130mg; Total Carbohydrate 3g (Dietary Fiber 0g); Protein 3g
HOW-TO To quickly thaw spinach, cut a small slit in center of pouch; microwave on High 2 to 3 minutes or until thawed. Remove spinach from pouch; squeeze dry with paper towels.
